About

Hey there, friend!

I’m so excited to meet you.

My name is Shenie Bento, and I’m a NASM Certified Personal Trainer in southern California. I have an associate’s degree in exercise science and fitness and several continuing education credits.

Here’s a little story about how I started my personal trainer journey.

I remember sitting on my couch watching an episode of the latest weight loss challenge show while my husband was away on deployment and thinking to myself. “Man, I wish I could afford a personal trainer because I could use some help with this weight loss thing.”

Then I was thinking about how I got to this place in life. I became a wife and mom immediately after high school. I went from a fit teen to a young mom struggling with yo-yo dieting for years.

After that initial thought on the couch, I prayed. “Lord, what am I supposed to do with my life? I know I have always wanted to be a personal trainer. But I was always too scared to try. Is this my calling?”

Apparently so; haha, shortly after that prayer, I heard the words “It’s now or never,” but the message I heard afterward was the most important. “Your purpose is to HELP people as a personal trainer.”

So I enrolled in college and attained my associate’s degree in exercise science in October 2017. I was certified as a NASM personal trainer from January 2018 to the current day, and several certifications followed. Such as Senior Fitness Specialist SFS, Precision Nutrition Pn1, MMACS & RevX Revelation Wellness Coach, to name a few.

I am an imperfect woman of God. Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I’m a wife of a Retired US Navy Spouse, a Mom to three incredible kids, a music-loving, wannabe makeup artist, a beach enthusiast, and an outdoor adventurer who is still struggling to find her way at nearly 40 years old.

So I understand the guilt and shame of a woman trying to do it ALL and feeling like you’re failing! (married life, mom life, personal health, mental and spiritual health). ALL. The. Time. And it’s soooo draining.

But don’t despair! There is hope! “For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” – Isaiah 41:13

Depending on our heavenly father, God, will get us through. Our strength is not enough physically or mentally on our own.

“I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me”-Philippians 4:13

So why don’t you and I work together to build our strength and faith?

If you’re looking for a guilt and shame-free fitness program supported by your faith, you are in the right place!

I refuse to tell you to Hustle and Grind or convince you to give so much of yourself to an imaginary image of yourself that your fascination with fitness becomes unhealthy.

I’ve been there, done that, and it’s not worth it! Have you been there before?

As a daughter of our heavenly father, God, and a sister in Jesus, my job is to love you!

To love you; so you can love those around you. “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Galatians 5:13

And with the help of Jesus, that’s precisely what I plan on doing!

I will show you love and support throughout your fitness journey through prayer, scripture, physical activity, rest & recovery, and nutrition.

I will remind you that God meets you where you are.

Sometimes our bodies cooperate, and sometimes they need extra TLC.

We often forget that our bodies are a gift.

Your body is a holy temple and needs love and attention. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Your ability to move is a “Get To,” not a “have to.”

I am beyond excited to guide you toward your spiritual & physical freedom.  “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8
